We bought a scooter a week ago and it has been nice. Nothing is better than getting with the person you love and going for a ride once the sun has gone down and it is cooler outside.
My family doesn’t really seem to understand what the scooter is all about. They think it frivolous. I know that it will be impossible to convince them otherwise, but I still want to outline the reasons we came up with for making such a purchase.
- we needed 2 vehicles with Sarah working and me going to school
- gas mileage: 90 mpg
- yearly insurance: $80
- parking on BYU campus: excellent for a scooter
So now Sarah is learning how to drive so that she can pass her motorcycle license test the first week of September. She was really nervous at first but she has taken to it like a fish to water. She even floated the idea of getting a second Stella so that we could ride together!
I’m afraid of jumping into the scootering community because the last thing I need right now is an expensive hobby geared to tech heads with an affinity for things vintage. But it sure is tempting.
I want to end this post with a question for all of our dear friends and family. This silver scooter needs a name, so please leave us your suggestions. If we pick a winner from amongst the nominations, you will get a care package lovingly put together by the Bytheways and sent to your domicile.
